Steve Earl Tave

                                                                                                  Life’s Story

Steve Earl Tave, affectionately known as “Joker” was born on Tuesday, February 8, 1949, in Mineola, Texas to James Henry and Thelma Watts Giles Tave. Steve was one of eight children born to this union.

Steve was a lifelong member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Mineola, having been baptized at an early age.

He lived most of his life in Mineola, TX and attended McFarland High School. He played bass drums in the band.

He later moved to Los Angeles, California for some years. Steve was an artist extraordinaire, remodeler and painter in California and in Mineola. Mineola remained his home until his demise.

On Thursday night, April 23rd Steve answered the beckoning call of our Lord and Savior at U T Health Center in Tyler, Texas.

He was preceded in death by parents, James and Thelma Tave; brothers: Charles Smith, James Tave, Otis Tave, Luther Tave; two sisters: Arthella Tave-Johnson and Patsy Ruth Tave-Webster.

Left to cherish his memories; one daughter, Marsha Upton; sister, Thelma Louise “Ping” Tave, brother, Joe L. Tave and his wife DeLoris; special friends: Peggy Moore, Mickie Kugler, Tina Davis and Benny Brown; nieces: Shantay Tave, Laticka Davis (Troy), Marshell Darden(Anthony), Vanessa Acy Tave, Vanessa Pole ( Todd), Pamela Boger-Tave, Monica Tave Martin(Fulton), Sonja Tave, PeTika Tave, Kassha Brown; nephews: Caryliss Tave(Diana), Eldraidge Webster (Edna), Andre Thopson, Joey Tave, Larry Tave, Christopher Tave, Gerald Tave, Tavian Tave, Kevin Tave, Val Tave; cousins: Gwendolyn Giles and Tommie Giles and a host of other relatives and friends.
