Opal Jean Williams, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in Mineola, Texas, on December 24, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on September 25, 1956, in Mineola, Opal was the sixth of eight children born to Leon and Minnie Lee Williams. She grew up in a loving household filled with the warmth of family.

From a young age, Opal demonstrated a strong commitment to her faith, joining the Sidney Temple C.O.G.I.C. community early in her life. Following her educational pursuits, Opal graduated from Mineola High School in 1975, showcasing her determination and dedication to her studies.

Later in her life, Opal joyfully married Johnny Sam Williams, embracing the love and companionship that this union brought. Together they built a life filled with memories, laughter, and an enduring bond.

Opal was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Regina Williams, and a proud grandmother to her two granddaughters, Nariah Stark and Alexis Starks. Her love for her family was immeasurable and her nurturing spirit will be deeply missed.

Opal is survived by her loving daughter and granddaughters, as well as her three sisters: Linda Smith, Gladys Tuck (Cecil), and Stephanie Brown (Jerry). She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by her nieces, nephews, and a multitude of family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is predeceased by her parents, Leon and Minnie Lee Williams, as well as her sisters Thomasena Williams and Nora Coleman, and her brothers Stanley Williams and Leon Williams. Their memories remain intertwined with hers, highlighting the profound connections she held throughout her life.

The community is invited to pay their respects during the viewing at London's Mortuary in Mineola on January 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the East Chapel C.M.E. Church in Mineola on January 4, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM.

Opal Jean Williams will be remembered not only for her love and devotion to her family but also for the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. Her kind spirit and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
