Obituary
On March 3, 1945 in Quitman, Texas, Jerl Lois was
born to the parents of Lenzy and Ella Berry. Jerl
graduated from W.B. Clark High School. In 1966, he
married Carolyn Berry where three children were born
to this union.
Jerl served 21 years in the United States Air Force. He
retired in 1986 with an Honorable Discharge from the
United States Air Force.
Jerl joined Muddy Creek Baptist Church at an early age.
He later joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and
New Life Fellowship Baptist Church.
Jerl was a member of the Distinguished Ladies and
Gentlemen organization, 4B Riding Club and East Texas
Riding Club.
Jerl leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Gerald Berry,
Sr. and Gareth Berry; daughter, Sabrina Berry Dean
(James); grandchildren, Corby Berry, James Dean III,
Gerald Berry, Jr. and Sabria Dean; sister, Bettye
Epperson (Haywood); brothers, Michael Berry and
Anthony Berry (Pam) and a host of nieces, nephews,
and other relatives and friends.
His parents Lenzy Berry and Ella Moore Berry, sisters
Doris Jean Benton, Margie Booker, and Rosie Berry
preceded him in death
