Listen to Obituary

Jacqueline Wright Brumsey was born on June 20, 1952, in Emory, Texas, to the late Nora Nell Davis and John L. Wright. On June 27, 2026, she peacefully completed her earthly journey, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, resilience, and selfless service.

In 1970, Jacqueline moved to Mineola, Texas, where she married George Brumsey, Sr. From this union, five children were born. Although Jacqueline and George later divorced, they shared the blessing of raising their family together. George Brumsey, Sr. also preceded her in death.

In 1973, Jacqueline united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Mineola, Texas, where she faithfully served the Lord and remained a devoted member for the rest of her life. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every season with grace, strength, and unwavering trust in God.

Jacqueline devoted her life to caring for others through her calling, as a nurse. Nursing was far more than a profession—it was her ministry. Throughout her career, she served in many communities, touching countless lives with her compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication. Whether caring for a patient, comforting a family, or offering a kind word, Jacqueline's heart for service was evident in everything she did.

Beyond her work, Jacqueline embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved preparing delicious meals for family and friends, believing that some of life's best moments happened around the dinner table. She enjoyed sewing and took pride in creating and repairing things with her own hands. She also loved spending weekends searching for hidden treasures at garage sales throughout the city, always finding something special where others might have overlooked it.

Jacqueline was also fearless. For her 70th birthday, she celebrated in unforgettable fashion by parachuting from an airplane. She wanted to show her grandchildren that no dream is too big and that they should never allow fear to keep them from pursuing their goals. It was a moment that perfectly reflected her adventurous spirit and the life lessons she continually shared: believe in yourself, be courageous, and never stop reaching for what seems impossible.

Known for her warm smile, generous heart, and quiet strength, Jacqueline was always ready to lend a helping hand. She gave freely of herself, never expecting anything in return. Her kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love touched everyone, blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Nell Davis and John L. Wright; her former husband, George Brumsey, Sr.; and her two beloved sons, Damon Brumsey and James Brumsey.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving children: Cecelia Brumsey of Houston, Texas; George Brumsey, Jr. (Latonya) of Mineola, Texas; and Krista Jones (Zachary) of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Debbie Jackson (Vincent) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dolvinia Wright of Colorado Springs and brother, Curtis Len Wright, Radcliffe Ky.

Her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Diamond Brumsey, Moraylle Brumsey, Savannah Brumsey, Ja'Varyon Brumsey, Julieann Coats, Jaxxson Mayo, Zavier Jones, and Zaria Jones. She also leaves great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were forever enriched by her love, generosity, and example.

Jacqueline's life was a beautiful testimony of faith in God, service to others, and unconditional love for her family. She lived with purpose, gave without hesitation, and inspired those around her to dream bigger, love deeper, and serve more faithfully. While her presence will be deeply missed, the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

                                                                                            Matthew 25:23
