Horace K. Kennedy

October 28, 1942 — March 13, 2022

Horace K. Kennedy began his journey of life October 28, 1942 in Gregg County, Texas to the parentage of Virgil Kennedy and Savannah Sanders Kennedy.  He was educated in the Arp Industrial School, graduating in the Class of 1961.


Horace accepted Christ into his life at an early age at El Bethel Baptist Church in Overton.  He served as a Deacon for over 45 years until his health failed.  He was a member of the Male Choir and served on the Building Fund Committee.


Horace was employed as a Brazer at Carrier Air Conditioning for 30 years.   Horace was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kevin Kennedy; brothers, J.L., George, Bennie, Arthur and Lee Donnie Kennedy.  A sister, Charzell Kennedy and his mother-in-law Eula Mae Sibley.


He leaves to cherish his memories:  his loving and devoted wife of 57 years Linda Sibley Kennedy; daughter Lavoris Kennedy, Tyler, TX; son Royce Kennedy (Toni), Mineola, TX; three sisters Vergie Miles, Barbara Hall (Johnny), and Debra Tate (Dennis), all of Tyler, TX; four brothers, Billy Joe (Evelyn), Frank (Beulah), Leonard and Buford Kennedy, all of Tyler, TX.  God-daughters Audrea Denson of Midwest Oklahoma and Melody Gardner of Red Oak.  Grandchildren:  Dexter K., Chris W., Jasmine K., Andralesia D., Kailynn K., Alexandria D, Jada H., Jaylon H., and JaMarcus K.  Great-grandchildren:  Jeremiah, Kaiden, Kylan, Trey, and Londynn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
